Homemade Car Dolly part 3

0 Homemade Car Dolly part 3Homebuilt car dolly project part 3, I drove a car onto the dolly I had to use wood ramps because the deck dose not tilt, I am going to make some fold up steel ramps and store then on the tong. The dolly’s tires did not even sag with the weight of the car and I only had like 23psi in them. I still have to install some wheel stops, tire straps, fenders and safety chains.

Thule CS10 Tire Chains Review – etrailer.com

0 Thule CS10 Tire Chains Review etrailer.comhttp://www.etrailer.com/tv-demo-thule-tire-chains-CS10-TH00204102.aspx

Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer
installation instructions and specs for complete information.

Today we are going to show you part number TH00204102 from Thule. This is one of their tire chains, and this is their CS10 model. As you can see here, it comes with a carrying case, and you can carry both chains. Off to the right-hand side is a pair of gloves to help keep your mitts dry while you install the snow chains. Also, there is a set of extra repair links that come with. And then also, off to the left of that is a handle, and that is part of the quick-release system, which is one of the benefits of this actual part number here. It makes it really easy to disconnect the chain and take it off of the vehicle. And finally there is a kneeling mat so when you kneel down of course you will not get your knees wet. It has a patented self-centering and self-tensioning system. The tensioning system actually centers the chain on the tire as you drive. The pattern on the chain is asymmetrical, diamond-pattern chain with icebreaker reinforcements. And this will not affect anything like anti-lock braking systems and electronic stability control systems. And next we will go ahead and install this chain and show you how it works and how it looks.

Run the blue part around the bottom side of the tire and pull it behind the back and hook them together at the top of the tire. And the blue cable will hide behind the tire and this will stay on top to give you some reference. And pull out the rest of your chain. And this red hook goes to these red chain loops here, just like that. And then your tensioning device goes through here through this buckle. And pull it tight, and then it hooks up to this strap right here. And with that, the chains are installed.

To release everything, undo the tensioner, undo your hook here. And this is your quick-release for the blue cable in the back. You hook it up, give it a good pull, and it comes right apart. And then part of this chain is caught underneath the tire. You have just got to roll it one way or the other to get your chain loose. And there you have it for part number TH00204102 from Thule. This is one of their tire chains, their CS10 model.

Thule Tire Chain Kit – etrailer.com

0 Thule Tire Chain Kit etrailer.comhttp://www.etrailer.com/tv-demo-thule-tire-chains-TH01584225.aspx

Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer
installation instructions and specs for complete information.

Today we’ll be demonstrating this product on tire size 26570R16. What’s really nice about this tire chain kit is that it doesn’t require driving over the chain, it simply wraps around the tire with easy connection points and go ahead and drive off. It’s an easy to use self tensioning system. As you can see here, we have our tire chain laid out, you can tell there’s one end that’s yellow. That end will get put behind this tire and will meet up to the other end that’s blue. Next you’ll see the chains themselves, they come around across the top of the tire. After that you’ll link the small hooks or small red links together, they are at the ends of chains. In the middle you’ll see a tensioning cable which will be connected to the other Thule tensioning device back on the right side. We’ll go ahead and install it to show you how it works.

As you can see the yellow end here, we’re going to attach to the blue end like so, the next step is take your chains, go all the way around and start pulling them across the tire. Make sure the loop is back behind the tire, pull your chains around which might be a little tough but they’ll come around. Also if you have a lot of snow like our situation here, dig all this out so you can get as much as you can underneath the tire here that will go a long way to get the rest of the connections done. First let’s connect our red link to our hook. Then we’ll go to the bottom here and pull our tensioning cable, again try to get as much underneath the tire here, now we’ll put it through this buckle. You open this up and stick the cable in. Try to get a few links in there, then you go up to our tensioning device and you just pull it down to make the last connection. It will actually look pretty akward, as you rotate it will self-center. Now that we have both of our tires chained up, we’ll take it for a test drive. As you can see the self-centering system actually worked pretty good, we started off with it right about here and it pulled itself towards the middle. You can see the chain is relatively centered around the tire. After a couple of test runs you can tell the chain has centered itself even more on the tire, which proves that the system works quite well. There you have it for part number THXG-12, the tire chain kit from Thule.

Thule XB16 Tire Chains Review – etrailer.com

2 Thule XB16 Tire Chains Review etrailer.comhttp://www.etrailer.com/tv-demo-thule-XB16-tire-chains-TH01571250.aspx

Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer
installation instructions and specs for complete information.

Today we are going to show you part number TH01571250 from Thule. This is Thules XB16 tire chains. As shown here, the tire chains come in a nice carrying box. Also the kit comes with a pair of gloves to help keep your mitts dry while you are installing the chains. It even comes with a couple of extra repair links. And finally it comes with a little kneeling mat to keep your knees from getting wet while you are kneeling in the snow. These tire chains use unique, color-coded connection points to ease installation. Basically you are just matching color for color to put everything together. This is also compatible with anti-lock braking and electronic stability control systems on some of the newer cars and trucks. Actually this set is specially made for commercial vehicles, RVs and for off-road adventures, too. Construction is hardened manganese nickel alloy steel. The chain link diameter is about 16 millimeters and it has internal clearance required to operate within the fender well of about 16 millimeters too. This does come complete with a 1-year warranty. Now we will go ahead and show you how it works and show you a typical installation.

Get your chain out and go ahead and stretch it out and get it as untangled as best you can. What you want to do is take this blue cable and the chain and wrap it behind the tire first. Just leave it on the ground and push it around the bottom of the tire. You want to hook these two ends together but you want to do it on top of the tire. And this blue part of the chain stays on the back side of the tire. And then pull your chains out and make sure you have got this part of the chain, too. And next you want to tie the two red ends together. And then this long chain with the rubber strap goes to this buckle back here. And then pull it tight. Then catch it with this red hook here, run it through this clip, and then take your rubber end of the shock and get as close to the hook up here as best as possible. All right, and with that the chains are installed.

To remove the tire chains, simply reverse the same procedure. Disconnect the rubber strap, take off the chain. And when removing the chains, make sure red hook to the little red loop is on top of the tire. Once you get it unhooked from behind with the blue cable, you can lay it down. It might get caught underneath the tire. Just back up a little bit and then the chain is completely off. And there you have it for part number TH01571250 from Thule.
